VELVET REVOLVER To Record With Legendary Producer BOB EZRIN
July 18, 2003VELVET REVOLVER, the new band formed by STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland and former GUNS N' ROSES members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, will enter the studio on July 28 with producer Bob Ezrin (KISS, JANE'S ADDITION, ALICE COOPER, PINK FLOYD) to record the song "Slither". The track, which was previewed at the group's live debut in Los Angeles last month, is expected to be the only studio cut on VELVET REVOLVER's upcoming EP of the El Rey Theatre performance, tentatively due on October 7. "It's just to tide people over — and tide ourselves over — until the [full-length] album comes out," Slash explained to Entertainment Weekly. "The show sounds pretty good for a raw, rock 'n roll representation of what we're about, with mistakes and all."
In other news, for the second time in a week, Weiland's court case has been continued because he is still in rehab. Now Weiland won't be due in a Burbank, California, court to address drug charges until July 25, according to a court clerk.
